The project
Our client, Greene King is the largest pub retailer in the UK. They commissioned us as their electrical contractor of choice for two national electrical projects for approximately 40 Pub and Carvery outlets.
We were contracted for the launch of Pub and Carvery and the roll out of this new national brand. The project included a number of major challenges which we successfully overcame. Fast-track conversions were needed for each acquired and rebranded pub, with the schedule requiring mains upgrade installations for kitchens to be completed within a tight ten days to two weeks.
Further, the mains supply wasn’t adequate and at short notice we were able to provide a service to run generators for each carvery. This enabled each outlet to become operational while the full installation was still being completed.
We carried out installations on certain days to work around operations. Efficient and responsive, our approach enabled each outlet to open on time and with minimum disruption.

Successes
In 12 months the S&L Electrical team carried out installations all over the country including Kent, London, Newcastle, Wales, Bristol and Torquay. We have subsequently been commissioned to work on the first successful trial for a larger, million-pound refurbishment and mains upgrade project for Chef Inn Brews, and for which a roll out is being planned.

“Their tradesmen were efficient, courteous and respectful of the sacred space in which they were working. The quality of S&L’s project management was second to none. The project manager met with us regularly to ensure we were happy with the way the work was proceeding and to discuss any forthcoming events, such as funerals or special services, around which we required them to work. S&L staff were flexible and fully co-operative in this respect.”
